The High Court of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh, has released Notification No. 112 Gaz.I/VI.F.2, inviting applications for direct recruitment to 25 posts of Additional District & Sessions Judge in the Haryana Superior Judicial Service (HSJS) for the year 2025. This recruitment is open to eligible Advocates from the Bar, by Rule 6(1)(c) of the Haryana Superior Judicial Service Rules, 2007.

Pay Scale
The post carries a pay scale in Level J-5 of the Pay Matrix with an initial start of ₹1,44,840/-, along with other admissible allowances as per rules.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality: Indian
2. Advocacy Experience: Minimum 7 years of continuous practice at the Bar as on 31.07.2025
3. Income Requirement:
General: Minimum ₹5 lakhs per annum
Reserved categories (SC/BC/EWS/ESM/PwBD): Minimum ₹3 lakhs per annum
4. Independent Practice:
General: At least 50 independently conducted cases per year
Reserved: Minimum 40 cases per year, excluding bunch matters
5. Computer Literacy: Basic proficiency required
6. Hindi Proficiency: Matriculation with Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject
Important: Members of Judicial Service (as per SC ruling in Dheeraj Mor v. High Court of Delhi)
Examination Pattern
Stage 1: Preliminary Exam (if required)
- Objective-type for shortlisting only
- Marks not counted for final result
Stage 2: Main Written Examination (750 Marks)

Stage 3: Viva Voce (250 Marks)

Qualifying Criteria
- 40% in each paper to be eligible for Viva Voce
- Final selection based on aggregate 50% marks (45% for SC/BC/ESM/PwBD)
- Final merit list category-wise
