The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR) at Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad (MNLU-A), is delighted to invite submissions for the third volume of its annual, peer-reviewed Journal for Dispute Resolution (JDR). This open-access journal seeks to promote meaningful discourse and innovative research on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), offering a platform for scholars, practitioners, and students to contribute insights into the dynamic field of ADR.

Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad, established to foster legal education and research, stands as a beacon of excellence in legal scholarship. The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR), formed in 2022, underscores the university's commitment to advancing academic interest in ADR methodologies like Arbitration, Mediation, Negotiation, and Conciliation. The center is devoted to promoting unbiased research and supporting the integration of ADR mechanisms into mainstream legal practice.

Journal Overview: Journal for Dispute Resolution (JDR)

The Journal for Dispute Resolution (JDR) by CADR is a double-blind, peer-reviewed publication released annually. The journal's mission is to explore contemporary legal issues and developments in ADR, both in India and internationally. Following the success of Volumes I and II—published in July 2023 and May 2024, respectively—CADR is now inviting contributions for Volume III, showcasing diverse perspectives and fostering academic excellence.

Suggested Sub-Themes

Contributors are encouraged to submit manuscripts on any of the following sub-themes or related topics:

  • Arbitration in Intellectual Property Disputes: Addressing online infringement issues
  • Extension of Curative Jurisdiction over Arbitral Awards: Implications on the Indian arbitration regime
  • Public Policy and International Commercial Arbitration
  • Generative AI and Arbitration

Note: These sub-themes are suggestive. Submissions on other contemporary ADR topics are welcome.

Categories for Submission

  • Long Articles (4,000–6,500 words): Comprehensive analyses of contemporary ADR issues, offering alternative viewpoints and solutions.
  • Short Articles (2,500–3,500 words): Focused analyses with relevant suggestions.
  • Case Comments (2,000–3,000 words): Critical examination of recent judgments and their implications.
  • Book Reviews (2,000–3,000 words): Reviews of recent publications in ADR law.
  • Legislative/Policy Comments (2,000–3,000 words): Evaluative insights into current legislative or policy developments.

Submission Guidelines

  • Co-authorship: Allowed for up to 2 authors.
  • Language: Submissions must be in English.
  • Abstract: Required for articles, not exceeding 350 words.
  • Citation: Must conform to The Bluebook (20th Edition).
  • Format: Submissions should be in MS Word (.doc) format.
  • Plagiarism Policy: Maximum permissible similarity index is 15%.

Deadline: Submit your manuscript by 11:59 pm, 15th January 2025 via Google Form.
