Breaking News: Dr. Ashutosh Mishra Appointed as Registrar of DBRANLU, Sonepat by the Hon’ble Governor on recommendation of Government of Haryana

Sonepat, Haryana, 15 Jan 2025 — In a significant development for the academic community, Dr. Ashutosh Mishra has been appointed as the Registrar of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU), Sonepat. The appointment was made on the recommendation of the Haryana Government and was approved by the Hon’ble Governor His Excellency Bandaru Dattaraya and comes into effect immediately.

A Visionary Leader in Legal Education

Dr. Ashutosh Mishra brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of achievements to this vital administrative position. A luminary in the field of law and mediation, Dr. Mishra previously served as the Academic Dean and Professor at DBRANLU, where his contributions left an indelible mark.

His career highlights include:

• Academic Excellence: With over 12 years at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, Dr. Mishra has established himself as a leader in legal education and administration. Dr. Mishra serves as a Member of the Board of Governance under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. He was also appointed as a Member of the Cyber Security Task Force at NIELET, Ministry of IT, Government of India.
• Global Recognition: Trained as a Global Academic Administrator at the London School of Economics, he has also been invited by prestigious institutions such as the Singapore Mediation Centre and the Ministry of Justice, Ireland.
• Accolades and Honors: Recipient of the Global Prestige Award 2024 and the Soul of India Award 2023, presented by the House of Lords and the House of Commons, UK, respectively.
• Administrative capabilities: He was an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the Delhi School of Public Policy and Governance, an Institution of Eminence (IoE), University of Delhi. Dr. Mishra's expertise has also been sought by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, where he was nominated to an advisory committee for the development of the research course at DAIC (Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar International Research Centre), Government of India, New Delhi. In 2022, he has also served as a Nodal Officer in the appointment of the Vice Chancellor of a university in Maharashtra which was nominated by the then Hon'ble Governor of Maharashtra and has also served as a Chief Justice Nominee General Council Member.

Achievements at DBRANLU

Dr. Mishra has played a pivotal role in shaping the academic and infrastructural landscape of DBRANLU:

• Research Centers: Spearheaded the establishment of 11 research centers, including the Centre for Gender Justice and Human Rights and the Incubation Centre for Legal and Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship.
• State-of-the-Art Moot Court: Set up a State-of-the-art Moot Court Hall and Hon’ble Justice Surya Kant (Judge Supreme Court of India) was invited to inaugurate the same.
• National Conference: First National Conference on the theme “Artificial Intelligence: Legal Implications & Challenges” was successfully organised as Conference Director on 24 February, 2024. Conference was organised in collaboration with Law Commission of India and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.
• New Programs: Introduced Ph.D. program, expanding the university's academic offerings.
• Drafting of Code of Ethics and Conduct for students: Discharging the responsibilities of Chief Proctor and Chairman Anti Ragging Committee, A specific Code of Ethics and Conduct for students was drafted and implemented to ensure discipline amongst the students so that the academic environment may be enhanced.
• Empanelment of Various Distinguished Legal Luminaries: Hon’ble Justice S. Ravindra Bhat (Former Judge Supreme Court of India); Hon’ble Mr Justice V Ramaswamy (Former Judge Supreme Court of India); Hon’ble Mr Justice R K Aggarwal (Former Judge Supreme Court of India); Hon’ble Mr Justice Krishna Murari (Former Judge Supreme Court of India); Hon’ble Justice Sanjay Karol (Judge, Supreme Court of India); Hon’ble Justice Rajesh Bindal (Judge, Supreme Court of India); Hon’ble Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra (Judge, Supreme Court of India)
