Moot Court Society, National Law University Meghalaya is organizing its 2nd NLU Meghalaya National Moot Court Competition 2025-26, scheduled for the 25th and 26th of April 2025.

About the Moot Court Society

The Moot Court Society (MCS) at NLU Meg is the cornerstone of practical legal education. Through simulated court proceedings, workshops, and competitions, MCS equips students with the advocacy, research, and drafting skills essential for success in the legal arena. In 2024, MCS made history by hosting the 1st NLU Meg NHRC National Moot Court Competition, and now, they’re back with an even bigger challenge!

About the Competition

The 2nd NLU Meg National Moot Court Competition 2025 is here! This prestigious event is more than just a competition; it’s a platform for future legal luminaries to showcase their prowess in legal advocacy, research, and oratory. Participants will tackle a thought-provoking hypothetical case, exploring multifaceted legal issues and crafting compelling arguments.

Theme

The competition will focus on a challenging and contemporary legal problem, encouraging participants to delve into diverse dimensions of the law.

Eligibility

  • Open to students pursuing a 5-year LL.B. or 3-year LL.B. program in India.
  • Each institution can send one team consisting of two speakers and one researcher.

Mode/Venue

The competition will be held offline at the National Law University Meghalaya campus.

Prizes

  • Winner: ₹1,00,000
  • Runner-Up: ₹50,000
  • Best Orator (Male & Female): ₹15,000 each
  • Best Memorial (Applicant & Respondent): ₹15,000 each
  • Best Researcher: ₹15,000
