Unity Post Graduate College, Lucknow is organising its 9th Justice Murtaza Husain Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2024, scheduled to be held from 22nd to 24th November 2024.
About the Institute
Unity Post Graduate College, Lucknow was the first college in Lucknow to institute a five-year integrated program of law under the aegis of Lucknow University. Since its inception, the faculty has been developing through the guiding light of its founder, Justice Murtaza Hussain. Our sincere endeavour has been to make legal education an instrument of social, political, and economic change, and to craft future lawyers who will be competent in the art of advocacy at both the trial and appellate levels and skilled in judicial administration.
About the Competition
The purpose of the Moot Court Competition is to give exposure to students pursuing an LL.B. Degree Course to hone their advocacy skills and to provide a real litigation experience in doing cutting-edge research, presenting persuasive and cohesive arguments, and contributing to the development of jurisprudence in concerned areas of law.
The Unity Moot Court Committee is the institution's student committee entrusted with fostering, administering, and facilitating mooting activities and upholding the benchmark of excellence that Unity P.G. College has set for itself. The Committee has been successfully organising moot court competitions year after year. We are proud to announce the Ninth edition of JUSTICE MURTAZA HUSAIN MEMORIAL NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION organized by the Unity Moot Court Committee from 22nd - 24th November 2024.
Eligibility and Team Composition
- All students duly enrolled and pursuing a full-time 3-year LL.B. program or a 5-year integrated LL.B. from the Institution/University recognized by the Bar Council of India or equally competent authority shall be eligible to participate in the competition.
- In case of any ambiguity, the Organizers reserve the right to decide thereto, which shall be final and binding.
- Each team shall constitute a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 3 members. Under no condition shall a team consisting of more than 3 members be allowed to participate.
- Each team shall comprise a maximum number of three members (two speakers and one researcher) or a minimum number of two members (one speaker and one speaker-cum-researcher).
Registration
- Interested teams are required to register for the Competition by completing the Registration Form. Registration shall not be accepted through any means other than the Registration Form.

- The deadline for registration is 30th October 2024 (11:59 P.M. IST).
- Payment of INR 3,000/- (without accommodation) and INR 6,000/- (with accommodation) per team is required to be paid at the time of registration through the UPI ID/ QR Code/ Bank Transfer provided in the registration form as well as in the brochure.
- Registration fees are non-refundable, even in the case of withdrawal. Incomplete forms or email registrations will not be considered valid, and the organizers’ decisions on such matters are final. All communications and submissions must strictly follow the guidelines outlined by the organizers.
Awards
The following awards shall be awarded in the Competition:
- Best Team - INR 20,000/-
- Runners up - INR 15,000/-
- Best Memorial - INR 6,000/-
- Best Speaker - INR 5,000/-
- Best Researcher - INR 5,000/-
- Certificate for Participation will be given to all participants
- All certificates and Awards will be presented to the participants at the valedictory Ceremony on 24 November 2024

- 22nd, November: Researcher’s Test
- 23rd, November: Preliminary & Quarter Final Round
- 24th, November: Semi Finals & Final Round
