Faculty of Law at Aligarh Muslim University is organising the Sir Syed National Moot Court Competition 2025, scheduled from February 22 to March 1, 2025.
About the University
The Faculty of Law at Aligarh Muslim University has a rich history spanning over a century in legal education and scholarship. The teaching of law at the university began in 1883, inspired by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the founder, who was deeply influenced by the legal education system of British universities. Determined to establish a similar standard of legal education at Aligarh Muslim University, he laid the foundation for a distinguished law faculty. Over the years, the Faculty of Law has nurtured numerous legal luminaries who have made significant contributions to esteemed law institutions across India. Their expertise has been recognized and honored in both the judiciary and the legal profession.
About the Moot Court Competition
The Sir Syed National Moot Court Competition 2025 which will be held from 22nd February to 1st March is designed to enhance participants' legal research, drafting, and advocacy skills through simulated appellate court proceedings. The competition will challenge students to apply their legal knowledge to hypothetical case scenarios, fostering critical thinking and ethical lawyering.
Eligibility
Open to bona fide law students enrolled in Three-Year or Five-Year LL.B. programs from any recognized institution in India.
Awards and Prizes
Certificates will be provided to all participants
- Winning Team – Merit Certificate, Trophy, & Cash Prize of Rs. 18,000/-
- Runner-up Team – Merit Certificate, Trophy, & Cash Prize of Rs. 12,000/-
- Best Speaker – Merit Certificate, Trophy, & Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/-
- Best Memorial – Merit Certificate, Trophy, & Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/-
- Best Researcher – Merit Certificate, Trophy, & Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/-
StudyIQ Judiciary Scholarships:
- Winner Team: Up to 100% Scholarship in the Judiciary Foundation Batch.
- Runner-Up Team: Up to 75% Scholarship in the Judiciary Foundation Batch.
- Best Memorial Winners: Up to 50% Scholarship in the Judiciary Foundation Batch.
- Best Speaker: Up to 50% Scholarship in the Judiciary Foundation Batch.
- Best Researcher: Up to 50% Scholarship in the Judiciary Foundation Batch.
- Up to 25% Scholarship in the Judiciary Foundation Batch to ALL PARTICIPANTS.

- Last Date for Submission of Memorials: 20th February 2025 by 6:00 PM
- Declaration of Top 4 Teams (Based on Memorial Evaluation): 22nd February 2025
- Orientation for the Shortlisted Teams: 1st March 2025
- Semifinal Rounds, Final Rounds, Valedictory Ceremony & Prize Distribution: 1st March 2025
